![]() ![]() Head coach Mike Gundy did not attend the AFCA Coaches Convention in San Antonio, Texas this week where so many rumors and stories are circulating. Reeder is a definite candidate for an FBS full-time position, and had been rumored in connections to the Oklahoma State position. He started as a graduate assistant at his alma mater helping with defensive backs following his playing career as a quarterback at Eastern Illinois. The Eagles were 14th in scoring at 34.5 points a game and they were 11th in third down conversions at 46.1 percent.īesides Eastern Washington and Oklahoma State, Reeder also coached at Wisconsin-Stout where he was offensive coordinator for three seasons. In 2017, Reeder's first with the Eagles calling plays and running the offense EWU was eighth in the FCS in passing with 320.5-yards a game and they were fifth in total offense with 476.7-yards a game. The Eagles split that offensive total with a near perfect balance of 272.3-yards a game in the air and an average of 255.9-yards a game on the ground. In making their way to the championship tilt, the Eagles had monster offensive numbers and averaged 43.1 points a game and had 7,923-yards in total offense for an average of 528.2-yards a game. ![]() This season he helped the Eagles to the FCS Championship Game last Saturday in Frisco, Texas where they lost to seven-time FCS National Champion North Dakota State 38-24. After serving under former Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich for three years as a quality control coach working with the offense and the quarterbacks, Reeder has been highly successful as the offensive coordinator at Eastern Washington. What made the report more believable was that Reeder is a sensible and promising candidate to land a job with a Division I FBS program. It is obvious that they missed here as Reeder himself confirmed through multiple sources that he has not heard from Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy and he has not been offered a job back on the Oklahoma State staff. Like any outfit in this business and because of the nature of their efforts they miss some. They take some chances in trying to be first on the news, but I think they do a good job overall.
